There is first Preliminary online objective type test followed by Online Main exam and interview.
Preliminary online Objective test:
Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests and test would be of 1 hour duration consisting of 3 Sections as follows:

NOTE: Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by IBPS depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for online main examination.
There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

b)Descriptive test: The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with 50 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay). . The candidates are required to qualify in the Descriptive Test by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank. Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are placed adequately high as per total marks in objective test.
IBPS reserves the right to modify the structure of the examination which will be informed through its website. Other detailed information regarding the examination will be given in an Information Handout, which will be made available for the candidates to download along with the call letters from authorized IBPS website.
NOTE: There will be negative marking for wrong answers in the objective test. ¼ th mark or 0.25 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
IBPS PO Interview
The candidates who have qualified the mains exam will be called for an interview which will carry 100 marks. To qualify for the interview a candidate is required to score 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates).
The interview round is conducted for not less than 15-20 minutes. It has a panel of bank officials who will raise questions to the candidates concerned themselves, banking sector, current affairs, general awareness, etc. The candidates must be well-dressed, confident and carry all required documents to the interview.
The merit list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained in main examination and interview. IBPS work out final score with the weight age of marks given to the main examination and interview in the ratio of 80:20 respectively.
IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria - 2018
Graduation Degree: The eligibility criteria for the IBPS CWE exam is graduation degree in any of the streams such as BA, B.Com, BSc, B.Tech, etc., from a University recognized by the Government of India. Candidate who possesses same qualification from the university recognized by the Central Government is also eligible to apply for this exam.
Candidates should have a valid Mark-sheet / Degree:
Certificate which supports that they are graduates on the day they were registered for the exam.
The percentage of marks obtained in Graduation should be mentioned at time of registration for the IBPS Bank-PO examination.
Computer Literacy: Knowledge of computer operation is a must as IBPS PO exam is conducted online.
Language Proficiency: Candidates should have verbal and written proficiency in official language of the State/UT. The candidate should be able to read, write and speak the language.
Age Eligibility of candidates applying for IBPS Bank PO Examination:
Candidates applying for the IBPS CWE examination should be of 20 years old but not more than 30 years old at the time of registration. Besides this, there is age relaxation relevant to category wise candidates as per the government rules:
